The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has released new communicable disease guidance for schools to support safe, in-person learning and care in K-12 schools by building on the multi-layer strategies used to manage COVID-19. 

 

It remains our priority to provide a general prevention framework to reduce the spread of multiple types of infections, including COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and norovirus. It provides general recommendations and does not replace or revise existing laws or requirements that apply to schools. The approach is guided by the principle that safe, in-person learning is critical to the well-being and development of children in California.

• At-home (Over-The-Counter or OTC) COVID-19 test kits are available at the Resource Centers and Offices.  Additional at-home COVID-19 test kits can also be ordered at https://www.covid.gov/tests

 

• The School Nurse is available to discuss questions related to any communicable disease concerns.
